NEWS 1 February 2016

2016 off to a flyer with Grease and Let's Rock

Grease

So 2016 has started as 2015 finished; incredibly busy, but with brilliant results from all the hard work everyone had put in.

The Monday and Thursday groups had spent the past 5 months working on and rehearsing Grease, and finally, on Saturday 30th, it happened!

Marist Church Hall had been transformed into a Theatre, with set, lights and sound and it was now just up to the cast to put on a show.

With Immie as Sandy, Luke as Danny, Melissa, Chelsea, Katie and Courtney as the Pink Ladies and Liam, Garry, Ty, Alisha and Jack as the T-Birds, the night, attended by parents, carers and friends was a huge success.

From beginning to end, everyone involved put on an incredible show with brilliant performances. Opening the show was Kiesha as Principal McGee, Courtney as Patty Simcox and Ethan as Eugene which was followed by the classic scenes, songs and dances that we all know.

Summer Nights, Stranded at the Drive-In, You're The One That I Want, Hopelessly Devoted to You, Look at Me I'm Sandra Dee, Greased Lightning, and a brilliant Beauty School Drop Out from Danny Kelsey as Frankie Avalon had the audience on their feet.

The above cast along with Leon, Leonie, Anders, Paige, Milly, Georgia, Courtney, Britney were a credit to themselves and I congratulate you on your success. It just shows what you can achieve!!

We will about this for a long time.

Thanks of course to our wonderful staff team Lisa, Hollie, Liam, Jonny, Jess and Kay without who it wouldn't happen. You're ace!!!

Let's Rock

Saturday January the 23rd the first Let's Rock event took place at Bridlington Spa and to it and representing FRCA were Immie Hart and Elizabeth Pickering, along with Lauren, Rob and Dylan who make up Unwired Society.

Funded by Youth Music the night was attended by groups from Bridlington, Goole and Hull and over 450 people made their way to the Spa to watch a cracker of a night.

It goes without saying of course that Unwired Society, Elizabeth and Imogen were class acts and their confidence and stage presence at such young ages can only bode well for the future!

So we move on to the next big project - Rock Challenge. Bring it On!!!!!
