FRCA's Theatre in Education group perform "Chicken"

On 9th May FRCA's Theatre in Education group, who meet on a Monday evening at Northern Theatre, performed "Chicken", a piece of drama written by Lisa Billany. The ideas for the play came from the young people's own experiences of Bullying, and following a series of improvised sessions, Lisa turned the ideas into a script.

Telling the story of Mikey, who experiences bullying from a group of his peers at school, Chicken is a thought provoking piece of theatre which stirs your emotions and makes you think about the effects bullying can have on young people.

Ben, Jack, Emily, Molly, Jess, Becky, Michael, Kelsey and Garry produced brilliant performances with hugely believable characters, producing something on par with anything I have seen by any youth group around the country.

The idea is to show Chicken again in June at a bigger venue, which will enable more people have the opportunity to experience the growing talents of these young people before taking it into schools in September.

Well done everyone!
