Festival Fun

The 2014 Festival season is almost over for another year, yet we have had a brilliant time at FRCA with lots of new faces taking part as well as the regulars.

August 15th - 17th saw us decend on mass again to Sledmere House as Tribfest 2014 began. Having now established the Marquee over the past 3 years and having recieved rave reports last year as to the quality of talent that oozed from within, audiences were up.

To review every act would take a long time, however notable newcomers to us, The Palms, Fran Hutchinson, Jonah, Lucy Star and Wayward Sons are certainly worth a mention as young musicians that fit well within the FRCA ethos!

Next up was the Freedom Festival that took place 5th - 7th September and we again took residency along Humber Street outside, and in partnership with, Kingston Art Gallery.

The colour, the music and the overall vibe at the Freedom Festival is an experience not to be missed and being able to involve so many young people and enable them to perfrom to great audiences is exactly why FRCA exists.

39 YP graced the FRCA/Youth Music stage over the weekend again with many people stopping to take in and witness new and emerging talent from Hull.

Added to the success of the Music Stage, FRCA also had a dance group perform on the Dance Stage. Choreograghedby Holly Meakes the young group took to the stage on the Sunday afternoon and did a cracking job! With a theme of Hull's History the young group recieved a great reception from the audience.

Any of this would not be possible without the hard work and dedication of the tremendous staff and volunteers that put so much hard work in, and it is these people that I would like to especially thank.

Working alongside organisations such as The Warren, Creative Voice and Kingston Art Gallery, and being supported and funded by Youth Music is an essential ingredient to the success of FRCA and long may this continue.
